The Story

Frank Urban started Urban Flooring Systems in 1995 with a simple conviction: if you do exceptional work and treat people with respect, the phone will keep ringing. Three decades later, that still holds.
The early years were all flooring. Hardwood, tile, carpet, luxury vinyl. General contractors started requesting UFS by name. Hotel owners began calling directly. Word of mouth became the company's only marketing strategy, and it was more than enough.
Over time the scope grew because clients asked for it. A hotel owner who trusted UFS with flooring wanted the same team handling bathrooms and millwork. A developer who relied on UFS for new construction finishes wanted one partner across every apartment. Property managers with hundreds of turnovers needed a team that could manage the full scope at speed.
Today Urban Flooring Systems is a full interior improvement company working across four sectors. The name still says flooring because that is where the company started.

Frank grew up in New York City Housing Authority buildings. Today his company rehabilitates them. He built one of the most referred flooring and interior improvement companies in the New York metro area by showing up, doing the work right, and staying inside a client base that keeps calling him back.
UFS has grown from a flooring operation into a full interior improvement firm serving hotel ownership groups, developers, property managers, and general contractors across New York and New Jersey.
